Sun/Moon displays two opposites that are connected.

Mythologically one could see it as a display of Janus, roman god of beginning and end.
Religiously one can see it as a modern ying and yang.
Spiritually it could show the transformation of oneself into a new person.
Biologically it could portray two partners.

Whatever the narrative. There will always be two sides, that are connected within and form a whole.
